However, as we’re impatient and want you to be able to enjoy these delicacies for even longer, we’ll be doing so a little earlier. And as a little taster, we’ve included roast duck leg with potato dumplings and red cabbage on our weekly menu for Tuesday 13 October 26. We would like to remind you that it is best to order roast duck and goose at least 24 hours in advance so that we can prepare them properly for you. However, we are already taking bookings.

on monday, we celebrate the feast day of Saint Wenceslas, the patron saint of the Czech people, in the Czech Republic. It was on 28 September 935 that Prince Wenceslas was murdered; during his reign, he preserved the sovereignty of the Czech lands, spread Christianity throughout his homeland and founded the Rotunda of St Vitus, which was then the principal church of the principality and the forerunner of today’s St Vitus Cathedral. In 2000, this day was declared a public holiday for the first time, on which shops are closed. However, we look forward to welcoming you to our restaurant on this public holiday as well.

The leaves on some trees are already turning brown, but there is still no shortage of colour. In the meadows and along the paths, you can spot the yellow flowers of toadflax, goldenrod and tansy, whilst in the woods you’ll find the pink to purple flowers of heather species; and if you look closely, you might even find some red cranberries. today marks the 235th anniversary of the opening of Europe’s first industrial exhibition, known as the ‘Waarenkabinet’. This event took place from 21 August to 14 September 1791 at the Clementinum in Prague to mark the coronation of Leopold II of Habsburg as King of Bohemia. The organisers’ aim was to document the state of development of domestic manufacturing; on display were products from 49 industrial sectors, including textiles, lace, jewellery and cut mirrors.

this Sunday is Saint Anne’s Day, which is linked to a traditional weather saying: ‘Once Saint Anne’s Day is over, the mornings turn cool.’ Who knows what impact the cooler morning temperatures will have on the harvest? As our summer specialities depend entirely on fresh blueberries, it is difficult to predict how much longer we will be able to keep them on our menu.
